Like our Yamaha "Standoff" project, this quirky TV commercial was the brainchild of communications chief Sean Goldhawk, who developed another clever script around Yamaha's existing resources (in this case a giant warehouse and a bloke that looked like Santa).
Yamaha provided the motorbikes and Santa, while LCB organised art department, child actors and fake moustaches. Once again, the key challenge in this production was performance (with one non-actor and two child actors), but director Reuben Field managed to coax subtle and funny performances from the team. Another challenge was the chaos of child extras in the background threatening to ruin takes; to avoid this we actually used green screen to shoot our child extras separately from our main cast (see image).
