Work with us at LCB: job openings and internship opportunities

About US:

LCB was started in 2014 by Reuben Field, an award-winning director with a passion for storytelling who wanted to bring Hollywood techniques to the corporate video space to raise the bar and create better videos for businesses.

Over the past couple of years, the company has expanded with our reputation, and we need more hands on deck to help deliver excellent products to our clients, which include the CSIRO, NSW Government, Yamaha Motor Australia, Fairfax Media and more. There are lots of opportunities to help us continue to grow, and for you to develop with us.

We share a cool office with a graphic design company in Redfern, with loads of food and transport nearby, and we like to have a drink together at the end of the week. We’re a pretty relaxed bunch, and although pressing deadlines occasionally require a late night, we’re fairly flexible in terms of work hours.

Post Production Guru

Lights Camera Business is on the hunt for a talented post production expert, who's able to edit, grade, sound design and create motion graphics for our friendly video production company, based in Redfern.

We're a small but growing team of high achievers with the modest aim of creating the best business videos in the world, and with big aims outside of the corporate world as well.

We have a focus on distilling complex messages into engaging videos, with a lot of interesting and challenging projects across science, technology, environment and government.

About You:

You have solid post production experience of 5+ years, and know your way around Premiere Pro and After Effects at a highly advanced level.

You excel at setting a cut to music, and you can work fast whilst maintaining quality control, exceeding clients' expectations and always keen to learn more tricks of the trade.

You're a great communicator and team player, working hard to make a deadline but being clear when that deadline isn't possible so as to manage expectations.

And you're a genuinely nice person who wants to contribute to a positive workplace environment.

About the Role:

You'll be working on a variety of corporate and government videos, taking footage and shaping it carefully to meet a creative brief. You'll work closely with a director to realise their vision, using your post production skills to problem solve issues as they pop up with creative and pleasing solutions.

Sometimes you'll be creating motion graphics with corporate logos, or animating to explain a technical process.

You'll also be taking feedback on board, knowing when to push back and when to compromise to keep your client happy.

Remuneration: $75K per annum plus super.

Sound like a good fit for you? Drop Sarah a line at with:

  • At least two work examples that display good rhythm and storytelling, and include some motion graphics;
  • A detailed description of the role(s) you performed and the thought processes involved in each work example; and
  • A bit about yourself

This role is open to Australian citizens and permanent residents. Only those progressing to interview stage will be contacted.

Filmmaking Internships

Lights Camera Business hosts internships with a view to fostering future talent and helping university students / grads transition into working in video production by providing industry experience and training.

You're in your final year or have recently graduated from a film production course. You were amongst the best in your class and have some cool films prove it. You're proactive and driven, with a strong desire to learn and gain experience. You're interested in writing, and good at it too.

You'll be working on a variety of tasks, from transcribing and research to edit selects, rough cuts and assisting on film shoots. You'll take notes at fortnightly staff meetings, and a major part of your learning will be through updating training manuals, getting expertise out of our Creative Director's head and onto paper, about the workings of a production company as well as specific skills involved in the video production process.

You'll be working in LCB's Redfern office 1-2 days per week, with a minimum commitment of 8 weeks, and while internship positions are unpaid, if you work hard and learn fast there's every chance of paid work with us down the line.
